“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever”. Psalm 52:8

Aisle of applause one year ago

O sing to the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth towards the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Let the sea roar, and the fullness of it, the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together. Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness will he judge the world, and the people with equity. Psalm 98:1, 3, 7-9

A year ago, on June 21st we had the great joy of bringing our beloved daughter home!
We expected 6 months of pregnancy without knowing what awaited us, we spent five months in NICU without knowing how and when we would leave there with our daughter.

We hoped in God all the time. And we keep waiting for him to ever lead us to do the best for our daughter. To lead us in this life so short here on earth. We learnt to trust and wait. We're still learning. I never want to stop learning!

It was an unforgettable moment when we left NICU with this aisle of applauses made with such love by nurses and mothers. God put many angels in our path. He still sends his angels to protect us, even when we can´t see them.

We thank God for this year with Vitoria at home. A year of joy and peace. A year without feeding tube, with no oxygen, no dressings or antibiotics in vein. A year sleeping in her room, close to us. Who could write this story with so many struggles and victories? Who could imagine what would happen, but God?

We still don´t have any idea about how it will be our life in the future. But I am sure I can trust God´s plans are the best for us.

If this aisle of applause, made by people, leaving a hospital, was so special, I imagine how wonderful it will be the aisle of applause that Jesus is preparing to welcome us in Heaven. It is worth wait and trust. It is worth believing.

Sunny day

Some people are having problems to watch the videos in the last four posts. I´ve added a link to watch them on you tube if the videos doesn´t work here.

Last four posts show some progresses Vitoria is having, using a bit more her sweet voice - we believe it is a result of wearing the hearing aids. She is also having progress eating salty food - she didn´t like it too much and preferred fruits and juices. Now she is accepting salty food better!

She had some hard weeks with cold weather, sore gums (three more teeth are growing in her little mouth and she was VERY ANGRY!), and she also had a cold, but she is going well!

Today we had a sunny and warm day and could have a nice time strolling.

You are Special- Max Lucado

Long time ago
I read this simple and lovely book written by Max Lucado that tells how each one of us is unique and special to God.
When we received our beloved daughter Victoria in our lives, I realized how much that lesson I had learned some time ago would be important to understand the value of that precious life.

I found this video that tells the story of the book, although that does not bring the same thrill of leafing through the pages with beautiful illustrations.

But it brings the same message about the value we have for God, and how understanding this can help us to be happy and free from any kind of label imposed by others.

A book for kids that speaks so much to adults´ hearts!

(Maybe most of readers already knows the story, but there´s always someone in somewhere that still doesn´t know :-)
